ATLANTA, GEORGIA–The dream of the home team Georgia State University Panthers men’s soccer team to extend their winning streak to four is not a thing of the past.
This scenario developed after the Pathers suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the visiting No. 29 Northern Illinois in MAC play last October 23 at the GSU Soccer Complex at 7 p.m.
The home team played aggressively in the entire game but the visiting team proved to be much better in the end.
With the defeat, the Panthers dropped to 4-2 at home this season despite having outscored their opponents 12-7 in those games.
The Panthers also won seven of its last nine matches outscoring their opponents 21-11 in those contests.
The Panthers will close out the road portion of the MAC schedule traveling to No. 13 West Virginia on October 28 for a 3 p.m. contest.
