ATLANTA, GEORGIA–The visiting Georgia State University Panthers men’s soccer team has extended their winning streak to four with a 3-1 win over the home team the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) on Tuesday night at BBVA Field.
The win is special for the Panthers since it is their 500th in program history.
The win also improved the Panthers’ record to 7-2 and improved to 5-1 on the road this season.
The five road wins are tied for the most in the country this year.
The winning goals of the Panthers were provided by junior Max Wilkins and seniors George Proctor and Salar Faryar.
Aside from the three strikers, goalkeeper Gunther Rankenburg also recorded four saves on the night giving him 26 on the year, the most of any goalkeeper in the MAC.
The Panthers hope to extend their winning streak to five in the opening of the Mid-American Conference play by traveling to No. 17 Bowling Green on Oct. 7 p.m.
