ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Alondra Nieves, a sophomore forward, is this week’s Center Parc Credit Union Student-Athlete of the Week after helping Georgia State women’s soccer to 2-2 draws against conference rival Louisiana at home on Wednesday and Coastal Carolina on the road on Sunday.

Nieves played 112 minutes in both games, including a goal, two shots, an assist against Coastal Carolina on Sunday and another shot against Louisiana on Wednesday. Nieves scores his first goal of the year and second goal in the 20th minute of the Panthers’ game against the Chanticleers.

Nieves has been responsible for nine shots thus far this year for GSU. The sophomore is one of seven Panthers who have attempted nine or more shots this season, contributing to the team’s well-balanced offensive effort. The Panthers are currently 5-1-5 overall for the season and 1-0-2 in the SBC. On Sunday, October 2, GSU will welcome SBC for Troy for Senior Day when it returns home.

At the GSU Soccer Complex, the Senior Day game is scheduled to begin at one o’clock. ET will be streamed on ESPN+, and viewers can get live statistics. The Atlanta match will be a “White Out,” and free shirts will be distributed before kickoff. Students and supporters are urged to wear white.
