ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The Georgia State University Panthers Women’s Soccer team got its second win on August 29 after defeating the visiting Davidson 2-0 at home.
Grace Kiser and Eva Diez Lois provided the winning goals for the Panthers who improved to a 2-2 win-loss record in the ongoing NCAA Women’s Soccer season.
The Panthers nail down their first win by beating the University of Tennessee dubbed as Chattanooga Mocs 1-0 last August 22 at Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Sophomore striker Ana Diaz scored in the 12th minute to give the Panthers its first win after they lose their first game at home against Mercer 0-1 last August 19.
After suffering defeat at home, the visiting Panthers played aggressively against the home team Chattanooga Mocs.
Diaz scored her second career goal off a deflection following a GSU free-kick.
Her shot beat the Mocs’ keeper low and left.
The Panthers maintained control of the match after the early lead.
The Panthers have eight shots, six on goal, while holding Chattanooga to just three shots.
The Panthers improve to 1-1 on the season and move to 5-0 all-time vs. Chattanooga. The Panthers hope to get their third win when they host the dangerous Kennesaw State at home on September 3.
