ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The thrilling game between the Atlanta United 2 FC and Birmingham Legion FC on Wednesday night at BBVA Compass Field in Birmingham, Alabama was suspended due to heavy rain and lightning.
The game was tied at 1 piece at halftime when officials decided to suspend it due to the unsavory weather condition.
Based on the USL Championship’s rules, the game will be replayed in its entirety from the opening kickoff.
A date for the rescheduled contest will be announced in the coming days as it becomes available.
Before the suspension of the game, the visiting United 2 (3-4-3, 12 points) is the underdog against the home team Legion (6-3-1, 19 points).
Beating the Legion on top of the Central Division will be tough, but United 2 FC lead by their coach Jack Collison is very focused and determined to win a win come game-time.
To beat the Legion United 2 FC striker Aiden McFadden need to play superbly in the entire game.
Aside from McFadden, Matías Benítez who netted Atlanta’s lone goal in their recent defeat also needs to play solid.
The home team for its part can avoid the upset ax if they can come up with a good game plan against United 2 FC.
