The U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) has officially touched down right here in the Peach State to begin their final, grueling preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026™. On Wednesday, a rowdy crowd of local fans gave the Stars and Stripes a true, thunderous Georgia welcome before the squad broke a sweat on the pitch for their first official drills.
And guess where they are staying? This isn’t just any regular camp—our boys are breaking in the brand-new, crown jewel of American soccer infrastructure.
Welcome to Fayetteville: The New Heartbeat of U.S. Soccer
For the first time ever, the USMNT set foot on the newly opened Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center out in Fayetteville, just a quick drive south of the A-Town.
If you haven’t seen this place yet, it is an absolute spaceship. We are talking about a state-of-the-art, 400,000-square-foot high-performance campus designed specifically to build the future of the sport in this country. Uncle Arthur did it again, folks.
The facility boasts top-tier indoor playing surfaces, 20 high-tech locker rooms, and 19 tactical meeting rooms where manager Mauricio Pochettino and the squad will be drawing up the blueprints to escape the group stage. Having our national team base their entire World Cup dreams out of Fayette County is a massive badge of honor for local fans.
The World Cup Clock is Ticking
The global soccer party officially kicks off on June 11 when Mexico clashes with South Africa in the opening match.
As for our boys? The USMNT will fly out of their Georgia base to open their World Cup group stage account against Paraguay on June 12 over in Los Angeles. But don’t worry, the action returns to our backyard immediately after.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is locked and loaded to host five massive group-stage matches, starting with a heavyweight clash between Spain and Cabo Verde right here in the city on June 15. The energy in the streets is going to be unlike anything this town has ever experienced.
The USMNT is training in our woods, the world’s best are flying into our airport, and Georgia is officially the epicenter of the soccer world. Let’s show everyone how we do it in the South!
