ATLANTA, Georgia — On the evening of September 3, Atlanta United 2 defeated FC Tulsa 2-1 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Atlanta native Jackson Conway scored two goals to set a new ATL UTD single-season scoring record of ten.  Atlanta got off to a fast start, with Vicente Reyes’ long ball over the top finding Conway in the fourth minute.

The Homegrown attacker brushed off a defender before stinging Austin Wormell’s palms with the game’s first attempt on goal.
Conway scored his tenth goal of the season in the 64th minute to break the tie. Tristan Trager’s free-kick from the right flank found Nick Firmino at the back post, who headed over for the 20-year-old striker to finish with his left foot.

In the 69th minute, Dario Suarez scored for the visitors, hitting a looping Noah Powder cross to the back post past Reyes.
Reyes kept the score even with a stunning stop on Rodrigo da Costa’s shot, which hit the Brazilian’s feet in acres of space. The Atlanta goalkeeper dived to his left to deny da Costa and set up a thrilling finish.

Conway, who had already broken the single-season scoring record, added his second goal of the night in the 89th minute.
Jonantan Villal surged through the middle of the pitch and into the final third before cushioning a ball into the path of Conway, who finished between Wormell’s legs for his 10th goal of the season.  On Wednesday, September 7 (7:30 p.m., ESPN+), ATL UTD 2 (5-20-4, 19 points) returns to Fifth Third Bank Stadium in Kennesaw, Georgia, to face Memphis 901.
