Josh Blank was named vice president of executive strategy by Arthur M. Blank Sports and Entertainment (AMBSE) on Wednesday. On August 15, 2024, Blank—who just finished working for the National Football League for four years—will begin working for the organization. He will be under the direction of AMBSE President Tim Zulawski.

In his new position, Blank will collaborate closely with Zulawski on strategy and big business project execution for the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium (MBS) AMBSE portfolio. He will be crucial to the success of big events like the FIFA World Cup (2026) and the College Football National Championship (2025). He will also spearhead the coordination of AMBSE’s and important community partners’ integrated efforts to win more big events for Atlanta and MBS. In terms of soccer, Blank will also act as Atlanta United’s governor, speaking for the team on the MLS board for all soccer-related issues. Additionally, Blank will participate in PGA TOUR Superstore’s quarterly and annual strategy planning in addition to other AMBSE investments in golf.

“We’re thrilled to have Josh join our leadership team in an important, impactful role that also allows him to learn many of the more complex areas of our business and gaining a deeper understanding of our operations,” said AMBSE CEO, Rich McKay. “His role integrating numerous functions in support of Tim and our external partners has become critical with our significant growth and continued aspirations. Josh has been an impact player at the NFL, working with most league-wide functions and a number of member clubs intensely over the last several years, and he has been part of the league’s major event planning and execution as well. His experience there will translate to immediate value for AMBSE, and we cannot wait to have him back in Atlanta.”

He now serves as the MLS governor for Atlanta United and is a member of the MLS Next Pro Committee. In addition, he is currently a board member of Elon University’s Young Leaders Council and a member of Pace Academy’s alumni board.

A passionate runner, Blank has finished one marathon, five half marathons, and is presently preparing for the Chicago Marathon in October 2024. In addition to continuing to play recreational soccer and enjoying golf, hiking, traveling, and skiing, he currently holds teaching licenses from the US Soccer Federation for both E and F.
