ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Kalonji Profile hopes to win its second 2021 United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Georgia Premier Division Championship when they face rival LSA Limeño in the finals on July 3 at the Silverbacks stadium.
The Profile got the slot in the finals after they beat the Atlanta Elephants in the semifinals at the Silverbacks Stadium 3-0 last June 19.
Limeño for its part reached the finals after escaping Seas Jamaica United FC 2-1 in the semifinals at the Silverbacks Stadium also on June 19.
Limeño is very determined to beat Kalonji in the finals since the latter beat them 3-0 in the UPSL Georgia Premier Division Championship last May 30 at the South Gwinnett Park @ 2115 McGee Road, Snellville GA 30078.
The Profile was very determined to win the championship in their first meeting as they scored their first goal in 36 minutes.
After scoring their first goal, the Profile played tough defense and foiled any goal attempts from Limeño.
On its official Facebook page, the Profile cited hard work and disciple as keys to their championship win.
“Hard work payoff, commitment brings opportunities, discipline is about consistency, and loyalty bring you success and opportunities,” Profile said.
UPSL is a mostly American professional development soccer league that was founded in Santa Ana in Southern California, with teams in regionalized conferences throughout the United States, and recently Canada and Mexico.
The league was founded in 2011 by Santa Ana Winds FC President Leonel López as a regional league for teams in Greater Los Angeles but expanded to include teams from 32 states as of the 2019 UPSL season.
Two seasons are played each year, with regional play culminating in a playoff system that crowns a single national champion each season.
The league features internal promotion and relegation with up to three levels in some regions; only clubs in the top tier Division I are eligible to compete for the national
championship.
The league is a United States Adult Soccer Association National League, within the larger United States soccer league system.
