Emory University’s Associate VP of Campus Life and Director of Athletics, Keiko Price-Carter, has been named a recipient of the prestigious NCAA Silver Anniversary Award, as announced on Wednesday afternoon. This accolade celebrates individuals 25 years after concluding their collegiate athletic careers, recognizing their professional achievements and embodiment of the values of collegiate athletics.
Price-Carter is one of six esteemed individuals to be included in the Class of 2025, alongside notable names such as Danielle Donehew (Georgia Tech), Isaiah Kacyvenski (Harvard), Matt Kuchar (Georgia Tech), Randa Jo Miller (Gallaudet), and Kerri Walsh Jennings (Stanford). The awardees will be honored at the NCAA Convention on January 14, 2025, in Nashville.
An Illustrious Athletic Career
As an undergraduate at UCLA, Price-Carter had a record-breaking swimming career. She was a 22-time All-American, a Pac-10 champion in the 100 Freestyle, and held five Bruin records. She was a three-time Pac-10 All-Academic selection and qualified for three Olympic Trials as a member of the U.S. National Team. Her contributions were recognized in 2021 with induction into the UCLA Hall of Fame, joining legendary athletes such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Jackie Joyner-Kersee.
Leadership and Impact at Emory
Since joining Emory University in 2020, Price-Carter has elevated the athletics program to new heights. Under her leadership, Emory teams have secured:
- Six national championships
- 19 University Athletic Association titles
- Three consecutive top-10 finishes in the LEARFIELD Directors’ Cup
In addition, Emory athletes have achieved remarkable individual honors, including 19 national championships, 10 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships, and 181 All-America recognitions.
Beyond competitive success, Price-Carter has championed initiatives to enhance student-athlete development, including mental health support, diversity and inclusion programs, and the Eagle Edge initiative for leadership development.
Recognized for Excellence
In addition to her NCAA honor, Price-Carter was recently awarded the 2024 Diamond Award for Excellence in Higher Education, Philanthropy, Humanitarian, and Community Engagement by the Not Alone Foundation.
Her strategic vision has not only propelled Emory athletics to unprecedented milestones in fundraising, marketing, and attendance but also set the department apart as a trailblazer in collegiate sports, including partnerships in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).
