Kennesaw State forward Tianna Rivera has added another milestone to her remarkable career, earning a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Third Team, as announced by the organization. This recognition marks just the third time a KSU women’s soccer player has received the prestigious USC honor, solidifying Rivera’s place in program history.
The graduate standout led the Owls with seven goals this season, ranking fifth in Conference USA (CUSA). Notably, six of those goals came against CUSA opponents, including a game-winning strike in a 3-0 victory over eventual conference champions FIU. Her scoring prowess was unmatched, with her seven goals being the most by a KSU player since Macie Rainwater’s 2021 campaign.
Rivera’s impact grew stronger as the season progressed, netting six goals in her final seven matches. This incredible run marked the most prolific seven-game stretch by an Owl since Brittney Reed in 2015. Her consistency and leadership earned her the program’s first-ever CUSA Offensive Player of the Week honor in October, punctuated by a career-high four-point performance (one goal and two assists) against FIU.
The forward finished her season as the team’s leader in points, tallying 18 across five assists and seven goals, and her influence extended beyond just scoring. Rivera’s unmatched durability and dedication were highlighted as she became the program’s all-time leader in career games played, appearing in 89 matches during her five-year tenure.
Rivera’s contributions on the pitch, coupled with her history-making accolades, have left an indelible mark on Kennesaw State women’s soccer. As she closes the chapter on her collegiate career, her legacy as a leader, record-setter, and game-changer for the Owls will undoubtedly endure.
