ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Paris Saint-Germain French striker Kylian Mbappe once again showed the world he is one of the top young professional soccer players in the world today.
Mbappe scored a hat trick to carry PSG into Coupe de France last 16 after beating fourth-tier Vannes 4-0 on Monday.
Earlier, the mother of Mbappe revealed his son is currently talking with his team for a possible renewal of his contract which is set to end soon.
Fayza Lamari said her 22-year-old son is still open to playing again with PSG once his contract with the French soccer club ends.
“We are talking right now with PSG and all is well,” Lamari said.
“I spoke last night with [PSG sporting director] Leonardo. Will we reach a solution? One thing is clear. He is going to give everything until the end to win the Champions League,” Lamari added.
Lamari said while her son is talking with PSG the ultimate decision still lies on him since what matters is that his son is happy.
“Kylian needs to be happy. If he is sad, he is capable of saying, I give it up,” she added before joking: “And he says that often. With Kylian, everything can change from one day to the next,” she said.
Earlier, sources said PSG has rejected the €160 million ($188m) offer of La Liga team Real Madrid for Mbappe.
The Sources added that PSG is only keen to release Mbappe if Real Madrid will reportedly increase its offer to €200m ($235m).
According to reports, Mbappe’s contract at PSG expires next summer, and the 22-year-old has made it clear that, despite repeated approaches from the club, he does not intend to renew.
It earlier reported that Real Madrid made the move to acquire Mbappe after the latter rejected the five-year deal, with the option of a sixth offer of PSG.
Mbappe turned down the contract extension offer of PSG on Monday.
Aside from Real Madrid, Man United is also interested in signing Mbappe.
