ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The United States Under-20 Men’s Youth National Team has recently called Caleb Wiley for its upcoming training camp in Frisco, Texas, from October 25 to November 5, U.S.soccer announced.
Wiley, 17, most recently competed for the United States. U-20s, he was starting against Mexico in a 2-1 loss at the Revelations Cup in Mexico City in September. The head coach Mikey Varas led the team to win the 2022 Concacaf Championship, securing their spots in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the Paris 2024 Olympics. Wiley has played five times for the United States. U-20s and three American appearances in U-17s.
The Homegrown defender just completed a fantastic first MLS season in which he started 18 of 26 games and split his time between left back and left wing for more than 1,500 minutes. In 2022, Wiley scored one goal and dished out two assists. On February 27, in a 3-1 victory over Sporting KC, he scored his first MLS goal.
