ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Atlanta United’s Brazilian striker Luiz Araujo is feeling good today. Araujo’s goal in his team’s 1-2 defeat at the hands of Toronto FC at the BMO Field on June 25 has won the voting as the Major League Soccer goal of the week for week 16.

In the voting held on the MLS website, Araujo’s goal got 46.6% of the ballots. The Brazilian’s moment of brilliance leveled for United early in the second half against Toronto FC. Following a turnover in midfield, the Brazilian received the ball at his feet from Franco Ibarra and dribbled at Chris Mavinga before a clever tap inside the far post.

To get back on its feet and start a new winning run, United will continue its road when they face the New York clubs, first against the New York Red Bulls on June 30, followed by a matchup against the reigning MLS Cup champion New York City FC on July 3. After their three successive games on the road, the team returns home on July 9 to face Austin FC.
