The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Soccer Streets program expanded to a sixth location on October 26, 2023, with the opening of a new soccer field at East Lake Station. The program, which provides free soccer programming for underserved youth, is now available at Five Points, West End, East Point, Lindbergh, Kensington, and East Lake Stations.

The East Lake Station Soccer Streets field is located on the plaza level of the station and features a synthetic turf surface, goals, and other soccer equipment. The field is open to the public during MARTA’s operating hours.

The Soccer Streets program is a partnership between MARTA, Soccer in the Streets, the Atlanta United Foundation, and the City of Atlanta. The program is designed to provide access to soccer for youth in underserved communities and to promote healthy lifestyles and youth development.

“We are excited to expand the Soccer Streets program to East Lake Station,” said MARTA Interim General Manager & CEO Collie Greenwood. “This program provides a safe and fun place for youth to play soccer and learn the game. It also helps to connect communities through transit and soccer.”
