ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Two members of the Atlanta United FC have made it once again to the United States Men’s National team soccer roster (USMNT) that will compete in three World Cup Qualifying matches in Concacaf this October.
Defensive specialists Miles Robinson and George Bello will play for USMNT on Oct. 7 against Jamaica at Q2 Stadium in Austin at 7:45 p.m. ET (ESPN2, Univision, TUDN, Sirius XM). Three days later, the USA travels to face Panama at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City (6 p.m. ET (Paramount+, UNIVERSO). The U.S. closes out the window with its first visit to Lower.com Field in Columbus to take on Costa Rica at 7 p.m. ET on Oct. 13 (ESPN2, UniMás, and TUDN).
Robinson has nine caps and three goals with the USMNT, earning his senior team debut on Sept. 6, 2019, in a friendly against Mexico. He made his first start and scored his first international goal in a 7-0 win against Trinidad and Tobago on Jan. 31, 2021. Robinson started all six matches and scored two goals at the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup where he helped the U.S. secure five clean sheets and scored the game-winning goal in the final to defeat Mexico 1-0. The 24-year-old was also recently named to his first MLS All-Star team and has started 14 of his 15 MLS appearances in 2021.
Bello has made three appearances for the USMNT, making his senior team debut against Trinidad and Tobago on Jan. 31, 2021. Most recently, Bello started two matches during the USMNT’s run to the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup title, including the 1-0 victory against Mexico in the final. The 19-year-old left-back this week became the first Atlanta Homegrown player to be named an MLS All-Star and has started 15 of his 16 MLS appearances in 2021.
