ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The Atlanta United FC got a much-needed boost in its quest to get back to winning ways when they host the New England Revolution (5:00 p.m., ESPN, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game) on Saturday, July 17.
The Major League Soccer officials have decided to lift the one-game suspension of United FC player Jake Mulraney on July 13.
The MLS decided to rescind the suspension of Mulraney after The Independent Review Panel find no basis for his suspension due to a red card violation n the 74th minute of Atlanta’s match against Nashville SC on Thursday, July 8.
With the lifting of his suspension, Mulraney is available to play on Saturday.
On its last game against Nashville SC, the visiting United FC salvages a 2-2 draw against the home team at Nissan Stadium.
United FC started strong in the game as they scored the first goal in the first minutes of the game from Anton Walkes courtesy of an assist from Mulraney.
The home team equalizes the score at 1-1 after Jalil Anibaba scored on the 14′ minute.
The home team took the driver’s seat after Hany Mukhtar scored on the 49′ minute.
Sensing danger United FC equalize the score at 2-2 after homegrown player scored 10 minutes later.
At that juncture, it became a see-saw battle between the two teams until the final buzzer sounded.
