ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Paris Saint-Germain teammates Neymar and goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma reportedly clash with each other at the locker room after they failed to reach the quarterfinals of the 2022 Champions League.
The two reportedly blamed each other for their March 9 defeat at the hands of Real Madrid 3-1.
The teammates of the two quickly intervened to stop their quarrel.
Earlier, Karim Benzema produced a memorable hat trick to carry his team to victory against the star-studded PSG made up of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar.
The defeat continues PSG’s heartbreak in the Champions League as they suffered another collapse from a winning position after losing to Barcelona and Manchester United in recent years.
With their win, Madrid joins Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Earlier, sources said PSG has rejected the €160 million ($188m) offer of La Liga team Real Madrid for Mbappe.
The Sources added that PSG is only keen to release Mbappe if Real Madrid will reportedly increase its offer to €200m ($235m).
According to reports, Mbappe’s contract at PSG expires next summer, and the 22-year-old has made it clear that, despite repeated approaches from the club, he does not intend to renew.
It earlier reported that Real Madrid made the move to acquire Mbappe after the latter rejected the five-year deal, with the option of a sixth offer of PSG.
Mbappe turned down the contract extension offer of PSG.
Aside from Real Madrid, Man United is also interested in signing Mbappe.
