ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The year 2021 is not a good year for Brazilian soccer superstar Neymar in terms of performance as a member of the Paris Saint-Germain team.
Neymar is set to miss two months of PSG games due to a left ankle injury.
The star Brazilian striker sustained the injury in his team’s win over Saint-Etienne last November 28.
Before his injury, Neymar is struggling big-time for his team this year.
In the last six games of his team, Neymar only managed to score one goal and 495 minutes played, with two assists and only three big chances created overall.
Earlier, French soccer superstar Kylian Mbappe has brushed aside his reported feud with teammate Neymar.
The feud reportedly started after he called the Brazilians soccer star a “tramp” in the team’s 2-0 win over Montpellier last month.
Mbappe admitted uttering the word but he already talk to Neymar about it and both of them have mutual admiration for each other’s talent.
“Yes, yes, I said it. Now these are things which happen all the time in football. It just needs to be something that doesn’t linger,” he said. “That’s why, right after, given how it blew up, I spoke to him about it,” Mbappe said.
He said exchanging harsh words is normal between them since they are both competitive.
“We’ve exchanged a lot of words like that in the past and we’ll continue to do so, because we want to win, but there shouldn’t be any hard feelings. There is no resentment at all because I respect the player and the man and I admire what he is,” Mbappe added.
