ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The P.A.S.S. Academic All-Stars for October are track and field athletes Toni Eason and Josh Acevedo. The Panther Academic Support and Student-Athlete Development (P.A.S.S.) team selects the top male and female student-athletes each month to receive the P.A.S.S. Academic All-Star award.

Toni Eason is a sophomore student-athlete from Douglasville, Georgia, who jumps for the women’s track and field team. She has a passion for nursing and plans to attend nursing school. She is one of her team’s SAAC representatives. Toni is a well-rounded student-athlete and is having a great fall semester.

The transition from high school to university is difficult enough without the demands of traveling for a Fall sport, but Josh (Acevedo) is proving himself to be a serious student-athlete in his first semester, according to Hicken, who also has the pleasure of serving as the men’s soccer team’s academic advisor.

I’d want to congratulate these two exceptional student-athletes. The indoor track and field season at Eason will get underway this winter. Tonight, November 9, at 7 o’clock, Acevedo and the men’s soccer team will play in the Sun Belt Conference Semifinals in Huntington, West Virginia. ESPN+ will broadcast the game.
