Ramzi Qawasmy, a defender for Atlanta United 2, suffered a partially torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee, the team revealed today. Qawasmy’s recovery timetable will be determined by his rehabilitation process, although he should miss six to eight weeks.

The 24-year-old defender spent five seasons at Providence College before joining Louisville City FC (USL Championship) for the 2023 season. Since signing on April 19, 2024, Qawasmy has made five appearances, including four starts, and helped anchor Atlanta’s defense in a clean sheet victory over rivals Chattanooga FC.
