Under the NWSL’s Under-18 Entry Mechanism, midfielder Ainsley McCammon and defender Jordyn Bugg have joined Seattle Reign FC. McCammon is signed until 2028, while Bugg is through 2026 with a one-year option that kicks in on her first game with the team.
Both players are eligible for selection in the NWSL x LIGA MX Femenil Summer Cup. They have trained with the Reign this season as trialists. August will mark Bugg’s 18th birthday.
He has made significant contributions to the U.S. Women’s Youth National Team program at different levels; most recently, with Reign FC colleague Emeri Adames, in the U-20s’ final training camp before the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
“Jordyn is a bright young talent whose ability at central defense is already at a very mature level where we feel she’ll be able to develop rapidly in our environment,” said general manager Lesle Gallimore. “She is athletic, technically clean and has a good football IQ. Most importantly, Jordyn is humble and carries a quiet confidence about her that tells me she has a growth mindset, a strong work ethic and a level of respect for our veterans that lends itself to success as a professional. I can’t wait to watch her grow into the leader we know she can be and to support our constant quest to bring trophies to our club and fans.”
Bugg was selected to the U.S. team before competing at the U-20 level. She was the only player to start every game for the U-19 WYNT in the 2023 Pan American Games, when she contributed to the team’s Bronze medal.
She also participated in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India in 2022. Bugg, a defender from El Cajon, California, was a member of the Surf 2006 ECNL team that was recently championed in 2024 while playing for San Diego Surf Soccer Club. As a two-time member of the ECNL Southwest All-Conference First Team, Bugg joins the Reign.

McCammon, who is 16 years and 335 days old, is the youngest player to sign a contract in the NWSL and the youngest signing in club history. McCammon, who turns 17 in August, led the American team as captain. U-17 WYNT during their February victory run at the Concacaf U-17 Championship. McCammon and the American team won the Concacaf U-15 Championship in 2022. U-15 WYNT.
