ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Atlanta United FC defensive specialist Miles Robinson is part of the starting 11 of the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) men’s soccer team in its game against Haiti in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup on July 11 at the Children’s Mercy Park Kansas City.
Robinson will take care of the defense for USMNT in its first game in the Gold Cup at home.
Although not part of the starting line-up two other United FC players are also part of this year’s USMNT roster for the Gold Cup.
Veteran goalkeeper Brad Guzan and George Bello are also part of USMNT that will compete in the Gold Cup from July 10-August 1.
According to reports, the 59 players in the provisional roster were trimmed down to the final 23-man team who will train for one to two weeks before the tournament.
Guzan, 36 is tagged as one of the most senior members of the team.
The veteran United goalkeeper has 64 international appearances, became Tim Howard’s backup at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups, and started at the 2016 Copa America.
The last time he played for the US was in the 2019 exhibition game against Uruguay.
For Robinson and Bello making it to the final team is a great way to gain experience in an international soccer game.
