ATLANTA, GEORGIA—The dream of the USA’s women’s soccer team (USWNT) to win the women’s soccer gold in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics is off to a rough start.
This scenario developed after their rival Sweden beat them bad 3-0 on Wednesday at the Tokyo stadium.
The USWNT, who is seeking to beat Sweden and avenge their loss to the latter in the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil was flat in the entire game.
The team that has not lost in its last 44 games could not follow the pace of Sweden in the entire game which allowed the latter to end their winning streak.
Sweden for its part was very focused and aggressive in the entire game which resulted in their shocking win.
The USWNT hopes to get back to its feet and strengthen its quest for Olympic glory when they face New Zealand in its next game in Group G.
