Play concluded on Sunday for the first weekend of the 2024 Jefferson Cup, with 47 division champions in the Boys U9-U14 age categories being crowned.
On Sunday, eight clubs successfully won multiple titles, with SYC Soccer, Richmond Strikers, and North Carolina FC Youth tying for the most with three each.
The following five teams placed first several times: Bethesda SC, Potomac Soccer Association, Bethesda Soccer Association, and Coppermine SC. At least one team finished in second place for five teams that won multiple titles (Arlington, Bethesda, North Carolina, Richmond, and SYC). At least one side from forty youth clubs finished as winners in their respective flights, making for fierce competition during the opening weekend of the Jefferson Cup.
One of the best youth soccer competitions in the United States consists of four weekends, including the Boys Weekend. played host to 440 teams from various youth soccer leagues. Teams from the following eighteen states participated in the event: Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and the host state of Virginia.
The weekend included teams from all around the United States, as well as several teams from Canada and Inter Milan’s U14 Academy team. Throughout the Jefferson Cup, Inter Milan’s Academy program will be heavily present in Richmond as the Official Sporting Partner of the event.
