This isn’t just a standard front-office hire; it’s a statement of intent. Culebro is a heavyweight executive with a resume that reads like a “how-to” guide for winning championships. Reporting directly to AMBSE CEO Rich McKay, he will now steer the ship for both Atlanta United and the upcoming NWSL Atlanta 2028.
A Legacy of Dominance: The Culebro Scouting Report
Culebro arrives with over 22 years of experience at the highest levels of North American soccer. His track record of turning clubs into juggernauts is exactly why he was the “outstanding fit” Blank was looking for.
- The Tigres Dynasty: As President of Tigres UANL for the last five years, he oversaw a golden era. Under his leadership, Tigres didn’t just win; they dominated, capturing Liga MX, Campeón de Campeones, and Campeones Cup titles.
- The Women’s Game Pioneer: This is the stat that should have NWSL fans hyped: Culebro led Tigres Femenil to four Liga MX Femenil titles. He is the only president in Mexico to capture both men’s and women’s league championships with two different clubs (Tigres and Club América).

The move to Marietta is a massive part of Culebro’s early mandate. The new 38,000-square-foot facility will feature four full fields and two half-pitches, specifically designed to give the NWSL squad a championship-caliber foundation before they even kick a ball in 2028.
