Soccer fans in Atlanta, get ready—the Premier League is coming back to the city!
On August 3, Manchester United will headline an exciting doubleheader at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The action kicks off at 2 p.m. with Bournemouth taking on West Ham, followed by a 5 p.m. showdown between Manchester United and Everton. One ticket grants entry to both matches, ensuring fans get a full day of top-tier soccer. The stadium will be open to full capacity, with natural grass installed for the occasion.
Fans can register for tickets at www.premierleague.com/summerseries. Pre-sale starts Thursday, with general sales opening Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. Prices start at $77.
Why Atlanta?
This marks the second time Atlanta will host the EPL Summer Series, following last year’s sellout matches featuring Brentford vs. Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea vs. Newcastle. The event’s success is a key reason why the Premier League is bringing it back, says Akash Jain, Managing Director of the EPL in the U.S.
“We’ve seen tremendous growth in soccer fandom in Atlanta, thanks in part to Atlanta United’s passionate fan base, the upcoming U.S. Soccer training facility, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s reputation as a world-class venue,” Jain told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It was a natural choice to return and engage with our fans here.”
Star Power on Display
With the EPL season starting August 16, teams are expected to bring strong lineups. Fans can look forward to seeing U.S. international Tyler Adams leading Bournemouth, Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes captaining Manchester United, England’s No. 1 goalkeeper Jordan Pickford anchoring Everton, and West Ham’s dynamic forward Jarrod Bowen in action.
Jain emphasized the significance of this opportunity: “Bringing a Premier League match-day experience to Atlanta allows fans to witness world-class players and managers up close. It’s an exciting chance to connect with the league, clubs, and players in a special way.”
Special Access for Atlanta United Fans?
The EPL is in discussions with Mercedes-Benz Stadium about ticket access for Atlanta United season-ticket holders, as well as engagement opportunities for local supporters of the visiting teams. Final details are still being worked out.
A Summer Packed with Soccer
Atlanta is set to be a soccer hotspot this summer. In addition to Atlanta United’s matches, the city will host six Club World Cup games from June 16 to July 5, leading up to the Premier League friendlies.
Jain isn’t concerned about soccer overload. “We’ve worked closely with Mercedes-Benz to create a unique Premier League match-day experience. It’s an incredible opportunity for our clubs to play in such a fantastic venue,” he said.
