In the UEFA Women’s U-16 Friendship Tournament title match, the U.S. Under-16 Women’s National Team and Paraguay battled to a 0-0 draw during normal time before winning 4-2.

The USA outshot Paraguay 15–2, but the two teams were unable to hit the net over ninety minutes of play, sending the game to penalty kicks. The USA had scored 25 goals through its three group games, easily the most of any nation in the eight-team competition.

The USA then won the tournament as Charlee Siria, Reese Canada, Jordan Hill, and Jaiden Rodriguez made their first four penalty kick conversions and Paraguay missed two.

Leading the team in scoring throughout the event were Hill and Ashlyn Anderson, each with five goals. Jaiden Rodriguez, Ella Kral, and Micayla Johnson each scored three goals.

Players eligible for this U-16 WYNT cycle are those born on or after January 1, 2008. All players born in 2008 were chosen by U.S. head coach Patchy Toledo for this competition. Each participant in the U-16 WYNT pool is qualified for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which takes place in the Dominican Republic in October and November of this year, based on age.
