Caleb Wiley is set for his European debut in France’s Ligue 1, joining Strasbourg on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The 5-foot-10 defender, who recently transferred from Atlanta United to Chelsea, brings his experience from 80 MLS appearances, six goals, and eight assists.
Wiley also played for the U.S. men’s Olympic team in the Paris Summer Games. Strasbourg, partly owned by Chelsea’s Todd Boehly through BlueCo, also welcomed Wiley’s teammate Andrey Santos on loan.
Strasbourg, which finished 13th in Ligue 1, kicks off the season on Sunday at Montpellier.
