ATLANTA, GEORGIA—For his solid performance in the last two games of Atlanta United 2, Tristan Tragger was declared the USL Championship Player of the Week for Week 17 by the league office on Tuesday. On July 3, Tragger once again proved United 2 did not make a mistake in signing him to be part of the team.

Tragger scored two goals to carry United 2 to a 2-2 draw against the visiting El Paso Locomotive FC at the Fifth Third Bank Stadium. Earlier, Tragger helped United 2 ends its two-game losing streak by scoring two goals for his team in their 4-3 victory against Charleston Battery 4-3 at the Patriots Point Soccer Complex last June 29. Augustine Williams and Jackson Conway provided the other two goals of the team. The win allowed United 2 to grab three points in the ongoing United Soccer League Championship season.

Earlier, United 2 suffered its second straight defeat after faltering against the home team Oakland Roots SC, at Laney College Football Stadium on June 25. The team (4-12-2, 14 points) hopes to continue its good performance when they host the dangerous Birmingham Legion on Wednesday, July 6 (7:30 p.m., ESPN+) at the Fifth Third Bank stadium.
