ATLANTA, GEORGIA—Two former personnel of Atlanta United FC is set to join the Aberdeen FC in the Scottish Premier League this June.
According to reports, former Atlanta United 2 assistant coach Henry Apaloo and United player Jack Gurr were set to join Aberdeen this month.
The two are set to reunite with former United 2 head coach Stephen Glass the current head coach of Aberdeen.
The hiring of the two is due to their close acquaintance with Glass.
Apaloo was part of Glass’s initial staff in Atlanta in 2019 after Glass was hired to replace Scott Donnelly, who departed after 1 season.
Gurr for her part was already wanted by Aberdeen in May when his contract with United was terminated on May 28.
The looming arrival of the two to Aberdeen is set great news for the team who finished the 2020-21 season on 56 points, 4th in the Premiership. It split its final 2 league matches of the campaign under Glass and won its 3rd round Scottish Cup match over Dumbarton before falling in penalty kicks to Livingston in the 4th round.
