In exchange for Derrick Etienne Jr., Atlanta United announced today that it has acquired $200,000 in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM) from Toronto FC.
Atlanta may get an additional $175,000 in GAM upon the fulfillment of specific performance-based incentives.
Prior to Major League Soccer’s Primary Transfer Window closing at 11:59 p.m. CT on April 23 the trade was completed.
“We want to thank Derrick for his time with the club and wish him the best of luck in his future,” Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said. “This is a mutually beneficial trade that provides us flexibility to potentially strengthen the roster in the summer, while giving Derrick a fresh start in Toronto.”
Daniel Ríos has been moved by Atlanta from the Supplemental Roster to the Senior Roster in a following roster change.
On Saturday, April 27, Atlanta United (3-3-2, 11 points) will play its next match at Soldier Field (8:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass, 92.9 The Game, La Mejor). If you have an MLS Season Pass membership, you can watch every Atlanta United game via the Apple TV app.
