ATLANTA, GEORGIA—A veteran soccer team based here won one of the 2022 Beer City Cup championships at the John B Lewis Soccer Complex Asheville, North Carolina, last September 2-4. Roswell Rovers topped the field in the over 40 categories.
Roswell Rovers said 32 teams competed in eight groups of 4, with two teams advancing to knock out the round. The team was able to defeat all 3 team s(Greenville United, Birra FC, featured previous rovers on loan Gaston Ouzmon and Shawn Reuter, and defeated Maryland Elite FC, the Reggae Boys sister team to last year’s O50 champions Maryland Lyons) and went on to defeat Printshop Beer 6-0 in the knock-out round of 16.
Some top soccer teams across the United States, about 114, joined the 2022 Beer City Cup. Many teams entered this year’s event co-sponsored by Ashville City Soccer Club since it offers beer, soccer, and cash to participants and spectators.
