To steady the ship during the ongoing administrative transition, senior assistant coach Leif Gunnar Smerud has been elevated to active interim head coach while the organization launches a comprehensive global search for a permanent leader.
Simultaneously, the club executed two massive roster-altering transactions:
- The Departure: Angel City parted ways with 19-year-old rising midfielder Kennedy Fuller, trading her to Bay FC in exchange for a whopping $520,000 in intra-league transfer fees and valuable allocation funds.
- The Arrival: Just two days after sacking Straus, the club announced a block-buster acquisition, trading for senior USWNT midfielder and elite creative attacker Ally Sentnor from the Kansas City Current to instantly inject dynamic pace and goal-scoring threat into the final third.
